Port Klang is a town and the main gateway by sea into Malaysia. Known during colonial times as Port Swettenham but renamed Port Klang in July 1972, it is the largest port in the country.

About The Port

Malaysia's capital port, and consists of three operational areas. Southpoint is subject to considerable tidal variation and is used mostly for coastal traffic. Northport and Westport have general cargo, container, breakbulk and dry bulk terminals and are free commercial areas. Tanker terminal at Northport. Dedicated passenger terminal.

On the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia in Straits of Malacca, approx. 40 km. SW of Kuala Lumpur.
