Marsaxlokk is a traditional fishing village in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with a population of 3,534 as of March 2014. The village’s name comes from marsa, which means "port" and xlokk, which is the local name for south east.

About The Port

Comprises several facilities within Marsaxlokk Bay including Malta Freeport, handling containers and Ro-Ro cargo. Marsaxlokk also handles liquid bulk products including crude, petroleum products and liquefied gas.

Marsaxlokk Bay lies on the SE coast of the island, approx. 10 km. SSE of Valletta.
