Algeciras is a port city in the south of Spain, and is the largest city on the Bay of Gibraltar. The Port of Algeciras is one of the largest ports in Europe and in the world in three categories: container, cargo and transhipment.

About The Port

Naturally sheltered port within a large, deep-water bay. Port facilities cater for most types of cargo, with ship repair and bunkering also available. The Port Authority of Algeciras Bay is responsible for the facilities along the northern shore of the bay from Algeciras to La Linea, as well as the port of Tarifa which lies outside the bay to the SW.

On the south coast, at the eastern end of the Strait of Gibraltar. Port lies on the western side of Algeciras Bay, with facilities located along the shore to La Linea. Tarifa is 12 n.m. to the SW and is the southernmost point of mainland Spain.
